My style of La Cerrada is based on my traditional mexican teachings , with the uterus being the very core of traditional medicine. The womb is the center of a woman's well being and it is important to honor it's role in all stages of life.
The womb is especially honored after the birth of a child. La Cerrada is performed after completing your Curentena (4th trimester) 40 days postpartum. This is a postpartum somatic sealing ceremony guided with your most intimate wombyn friends to help participate in honoring your new journey into motherhood. I incorporate my knowledge and teaching I've learned from several healers and teachers as well as incorporating my own wisdom and traditional teachings
Peri Steam Bath- The peri steam bath helps heal the perineum, uterus, reproductive system, treats hemorrhoids and helps bring warmth back into the uterus.
Herbal Body Bath- Client is placed in tub with fresh warming herbs . This bath is in lieu of a temazcal (sweat lodge) which represents the womb and being in the mothers womb feeling warm, protected and nourished. When you leave the womb you are born. Allows mother to release, meditate and reflect on the birth.
Bone Closing Ceremony- Full body gentle massage to help seal the body and close the mothers bones.
Sobada and Belly Binding - Warming oils to gently massage the womb. It is used not just to heal the muscle wall but to help place the womb back in it's proper place.* Postpartum sealing is a great way to help the mother feel loved and cared for. Assists in releasing unwanted , stuck energies. Aligns the hips and spine.*
